Sitting outside, playing cards, drinking some Coffee Heaven (that's the name of the store)
Laura & I waiting at the Visa OfficePoland changed their Visa process beginning this year (I believe)...here is what I did on Monday. This is only the first part of the process....
- 3:15am...get up, get ready, walk to the bus stop & take the bus to the train station
- 4:20am...take the train to Warsaw (takes about 2 hours)
- 6:30am...walk to the subway (side note: the only subway in Poland is in Warsaw I found out), take the subway & walk to the Visa Office
- 6:45am...get in line outside of the Visa Office & proceed to wait...oh yes, there is quite a line...and the office opens at 10am. (Side note: it was sprinkling as we sat outside...good thing we had umbrellas)
- 10am...Visa Office opens & there is a mad rush up the stairs to get your number (just like at the deli in a foodstore...take a number)
- 10:15am...find a seat inside and wait for number to be called
- Around noon...eat sandwich & wait more
- 3:30pm...Laura hunter-gathers food & Mountain Dew (as we have had about 4 or so hours of sleep), & we wait.
- 4:30pm...my number is finally called. I am convinced we were being taught patience & the only reason my number [21] was ever called was because Laura read some verses from the Bible on patience. (Side note: Visa Office closes at 5pm)
- 4:55pm...my application is finally satisfactorally explained (due to the wonderful translation of Bernatka), & it is time to mad-dash downstairs to pay the application fee before they close. (Side note: the only thing that was not approved by them was my picture - you have to show your left ear & evidently my hair had covered the very top. Luckily they are allowing me to mail the corrected ear-showing picture in).
We finally arrived in Radom around 9pm & decided to go to "Tomato Pizza" as a treat. Which was an extremely tasty place with a modern feel...and one of the only places open :)
Wednesday (tomorrow) we leave for our first English Camp of the summer & are super excited about it! We have some people we know from our home church & our training who are coming. It is going to be an amazing time & I will report upon my return after the 23rd of July!

Christine and Laura: Duh, forgot to pray with you two before I left. Here is my prayer to the Lord for you two: God, please fill these two with your Spirit, may they spread your Gospel in Radom, may they lead many to Christ in Poland, may they use the many resources and talents you have provided in each of them for your glory, may they receive the gift of tongues and easily and miraculously learn Polish, may they be a blessing to Tytus, the elders of Chrzescijariska Spolecznosc, and all its members, bless their endeavors at the English camp, may their support be fully raised, keep them from physical harm, may you give them health and strength, may they be fruitful and full of service, give them a heart for the teens & Marek, may their apartment be one of the many refuges for the church, and may they be helpful to the church in Fredericktown which is one church with the church in Radom. DP
