Ok, so his name isn't "Buddy" but we have to call him something temporarily....we will be picking a new name shortly....he is a Degu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degu)

It looks like a guinea pig to me! My sister brought the class guinea pig home in kindergarten - Chewy - and he died at our house. Talk about traumatic!
